Megan Dausch is the senior instructor of adaptive technology for the Helen Keller National Center (HKNC) as well as a specialist ensuring its content meets international accessibility guidelines. She earned a Bachelor's in English from Manhattanville College and a Masters in Language and Literacy from the College of New York. In her spare time, she loves to write, cook, and spend time with her husband and guide dog.
Megan's work at HKNC
The Helen Keller National Center for DeafBlind Youths and Adults is the only national Comprehensive and Vocational Rehabilitation Program for people with combined hearing and vision loss. Megan provides accessibility training, offers remedial suggestions, and works with vendors and internal staff to advocate for accessibility. Her work involves a variety of technologies, including Windows, iOS, Braille displays, and screen readers. Envision College Success Program
In addition to her work at HKNC, Megan is a mentor at the Envision College Success Program, which helps blind and visually impaired students acquire resources to improve their college experience. The program offers an array of on-demand resources, a community of blind peers, virtual events, job search support, and individual mentoring from disabled peers and experts. As a mentor, Megan provides encouragement, advise, and support as well as running a peer group for other mentors.
