Daily Living Toolbox: Practical Techniques for Organization & Communication

12-week Virtual Training Program Begins February 1st

Are you looking for new ways to accomplish daily tasks, stay organized, and connect with loved ones, while living more happily and independently? Is your vision loss making it difficult to retain information, stay active and engage with hobbies? Are you fascinated with the potential ways technology can enhance your life, but aren’t sure where to begin?

Join us for this 12-week program to explore the multitude of ways technology opens opportunities to improve your daily life! This program allows students to hone their skills in several areas, through both group and private class sessions. Learn how the technology you already own can increase daily task management, promote organization, reduce stress, promote independent travel and more. This program empowers you to create a more organized and enjoyable daily life.

This program includes a 6-part series of webinars offered via Zoom every 2 weeks. These webinars will take place every other Wednesday, from 1:00-3:00 p.m. These group discussions introduce new tools, while allowing for open discussion and strategizing. Participants will also work privately with instructors to learn desired new techniques, set and meet personal goals, and work at their own pace to master the most popular and affordable low vision apps and tools available today.

Throughout the program, please feel free to contact instructors with any questions. We will regularly be checking in on your progress and assessing your goals. Remember: this program is designed to work with your specific goals and needs. We are here to assist you in expanding your knowledge of technology and encourage you to explore these tools between classes.

For any questions or concerns about this program, please contact Program Coordinator Katie Crocker by email at kcrocker [at] poluscenter.org or by phone at 508-525-2733

Participants in this 12-week program are expected to attend all group webinars, as each class builds on the skills from the previous one. Webinars will also be recorded for students to review in case a class is missed, or for additional review between classes and working individually with instructors. Daily Living Toolbox is a project of the Polus Center for Social and Economic Development, Inc., made possible through funding from the Massachusetts Commission for the Blind's Adjustment to Blindness initiative.
